Often, people know how to carry out a certain good behavior properly.  The intention is good and the resources are widely available and attainable.  But then, for a particular or no reason at all, opt not to do such.  This sparks up a motivational issue.

Motivation is the amalgam of a person’s energy and desire particularly directed on achieving a certain goal.  Reasonably, it is a cause of action.  Motivational factors can be two things: intrinsic or extrinsic.  Intrinsic elements may be feelings of achievements and or satisfaction, while extrinsic may mean a punishment, goal obtainment or rewards.  People are not entirely motivated by a similar thing and that, over time, motivations can change.

In the corporate world, or within the job industry, more often than not, you can hear people saying that it is money that motivates them.  Undeniably, money is important, as it allows and is required for you to acquire things that you need and want.  However, in reality, money motivates for a certain period and eventually, people will reach at a certain point wherein they get indifferent to it.  If so, what are the more essential factors that motivate people besides money?  Well, there are so many motivational aspects that people have come to acknowledge.  There is autonomy or liberty, helping others, good service, appreciation and development.

People are naturally creative individuals who can always figure out a way to achieve great results.  Providing them with the liberty or the autonomy to distinguish how to acquire desired outcomes enables them to feel and realize that they are trusted and can be trusted.  In turn, the realization will motivate them to do better and live up to what is expected from them.

When it comes to helping others, it makes one feel like he or she is contributing something worthwhile.  Have come across somebody that when asked what matters to them, they answered helping others?  It certainly makes one feel good about himself or herself to help others.  Feeling good about it normally make him or her wants to do more.  Now, isn’t that motivational?  Moreover, a good service is always favorable and motivating enough for one to yearn to be better.  Like for instance, at work.  Businesses stay on to meet their needs.  It may be IT, legal, caring for people or accountancy.  Have you heard of someone who reports to work every day with an intention of providing bad service?  Well then, ponder on it.  Do you think you will be motivated to work on a company or be involved in some business that has a reputation of providing inferior service?  The answer is just too obvious.

Nobody certainly wants to be taken for granted and be ignored.  Rather, every body deserves to be appreciated.  Somehow, once in a while, a person needs to be felt like he or she is appreciated.  A simple word or act of appreciation makes a whole lot of difference.  It is one great ego booster indeed.  Unfortunately, some people tend to disregard it on their list of to-do’s, especially managers or leaders.  There are those that fail to boost their employee’s confidence.  A simple “thank you” to an employee is enough and a readily motivator for leaders or superiors.

Majority of people want to grow and aim to be developed, whatever field they may be.  Development is not at all just about attending conferences and training courses.  It involves giving people special projects and new challenges, which may be for the business or the community.

Just think of how you can help others grow and become better persons.  By the end of the day, as the sun sets in, you will know that there is certainly no magic potion for motivation.  It is all about the simplest tangible and intangible things that matter so much, making all the difference.
