The Winding Road To Inner Happiness

The solitary source of unhappiness and happiness alike is nothing and no one else but YOU. Real happiness does not come after you. Instead, you create it. You bring it out. If you wait for something to make you happy, like most people are doing with their lives, it is like waiting your life to unfold before you. For it is not the things happening around you that count but how you react to them. Therefore, finding inner happiness is all about you and your attitude. As you incorporate positive vibes and attitude in your daily life, you will discover that life is a rewarding adventure after all.

Anyway, to find inner happiness is to identify first what makes you happy. Doing so will only be futile if you continue to live a fast-paced life. Initially, you have to stop. Halt and take the effort and time to ponder thoroughly what you are doing, whether or not it gratifies you or drains you. As you go over this, you ask yourself what can possibly offer you inner happiness, how will you know if you have found it or what aspect in your life you want to be more happy in? Is it work or family?

Everyone deserves to be happy. Modify your attitude to associate this new level of thinking. Like the many people out there, you too deserve to have a happy life and be a happy being. Inner happiness is most likely to attain if you handle the basic necessities of life rightfully. A person’s basic needs include food, shelter, clothing, love, appreciation, affection, respect and so on and so forth. It is quite possible to have inner peace even with the surroundings in chaos. However, it is going to be unnecessary and challenging. As much as you can, both outer and inner flow of things in your life must go hand-in-hand together. Say, you are hungry. Do you think you can concentrate on discerning what makes you happy if your stomach is craving for food? Therefore, it is important to take care of your hungry stomach first for you to go on with your quest to inner happiness.

For real happiness to settle in, tidy your life from any unwanted clutter such as unsatisfying work, toxic relationships, pressuring peers, excess weight and all the other negative stuffs, including any emotional block you are dealing with at the moment. Once you have eliminated all the unhappy and distracting stuffs, pour in anything that gives you a reason to smile and be happy. Whatever is making you happy, add more of them in your life regardless of how small or big they are, as long as they are making you happy. Example, a framed picture of your only son is always a delight to see. And so, you have to put some more in your office or home. Clean up and organize your worktable to give room to your son’s framed photograph. You see, it does not take the grandest things to be happy.

Furthermore, apply balance between your outer expressions to your inner work. Like, if your lifestyle is one filled with absurdity, it will be essential if you take some peaceful moments of solitude and rest, so you can hear and listen what life has been telling you. Upon identifying the things that make you happy, do them more often or nurture such things, events or people. Regularly water the roots of your source of happiness. Do not forget too, that happiness is not one-sided and it is not a one-man show. It may start or ends with you, but in between, there are abounding opportunities and people to share it with. Spread happiness around. Be an instrument for others to take pleasure in empowering happiness.

Life is not at all comfy rides and roses. Once in a while, there will be sadness creeping in. For without it, you will not fully appreciate happiness. Therefore, in moments of sadness, embrace it. And be assured that as the languid cloud part ways, fresh sunshine will glimmer. The same can be said of inner happiness. It is just like with every storm, calmness will follow. Thus in every turmoil, peace and inner happiness will settle in.

Inner happiness is found in being contented and at home with yourself and with all that you have in your life. It is looking through your surroundings with appreciation and gratitude, rather than incessantly wanting for more. Listen to your heart. Happiness is right there with you. All you need to do is look within you and recognize it as it is.
