Breast Augmentation Surgery First Hand

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that many women choose to have performed and is also considered a personal choice. The best person to speak with about breast augmentation is an experienced breast augmentation surgeon. Many women choose breast augmentation for different reasons: when the breast size is too small, to balance a variation in breast size, to restructure breasts that have lost their shape from breast-feeding or aging and as a reconstructive procedure following breast surgery. Breast augmentation will increase the size of a woman’s breasts, but it will not perfect them.

Make Sure That You Educate Yourself -

Probably the most important step in considering breast augmentation is to obtain as much information about the procedure as possible. By educating yourself you can make a more informed decision about whether or not breast augmentation is right for you.

Some of the key things you should learn about are the different types of breast implants used in breast augmentation, the different placement of the implants and the different incisions that can be made for different breast augmentation procedures.

There are several different types of surgical incisions. Incisions can in the crease of the breast where the breast meets the chest, beneath the areola or in the armpit. An implant insertion behind the breast tissue or under the chest wall muscle will push the breast tissue forward, making the breast appear larger and fuller. Most physicians prefer placing the implant under the chest muscle. This is because the muscle provides an additional layer of padding to provide a more natural look, and minimizes the probability of scar tissue formation around the implant. A small scar will be present after the surgery, even though most plastic surgeons try to make the incision in an area that will lessen the visibility of the scar.

By having great knowledge about breast augmentation, when the time comes to have your initial consultation with the plastic surgeon, you will be more likely to ask better questions about the aspects of breast augmentation that you are unclear about. Also, by being more informed and asking more questions, you are better able to choose an experienced and qualified plastic surgeon.

Do Not Let Money Make the Decision for You -

There are also certain aspects of breast augmentation surgery that should be avoided at all costs. For instance, do not make a decision on a plastic surgeon or facility based solely on cost, a quality plastic surgeon will provide you with financing options so that your breast augmentation is as affordable as possible.

Breast augmentation can provide a woman with the body contour they are looking for, as well as a boost in self-confidence from looking the way they have always wanted. After deciding to have breast augmentation, learning about breast augmentation, and choosing the plastic surgeon to perform the breast augmentation, the surgery and recovery will be an easy process.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of women undergoing breast augmentation is increasing at a rapid pace. Over the last couple of years, breast augmentation surgery has advanced in terms of safety and effectiveness.
